Bulls Eye Holiness

Have you ever tried to accomplish something in life that just seems way out of reach? I can remember as a kid that I wanted to fly planes for a living; I wanted to fly the F-14 in the Navy. As I grew up and began to get taller everyone said that I would be too tall to fly in the Navy. I lived by these things that were told to me and never worked on pursuing the idea any longer. One of my friends that I went to school with had the same dreams and faced the same obstacles. The difference is that he continued to aim for his goals and dreams and is now flying for the Navy. He is not flying the F-14 but he is flying and he is living his dream with a different pair of wings. If we aim do the things God commands us to do despite the negative things the world says about it we can separate from sin.
What does it mean to be Holy? Holy is a famous religious term given to things associated with God. Something that is holy is SET APART from sin.
Holy or holiness is very rare. Holiness starts with God because God is holy. God then calls you and I and encourages us to be SET APART from the things that separate us from God. Since God has given you His Son to make you right with Him, holiness is a goal for those wanting to mature and grow in their faith.
It is what I call bulls eye living. If you continue to aim at nothing, you will hit it every time. Nothing is a lousy target. Take aim at holiness today. Set yourself apart from sin.

But you are Holy,
enthroned on the praises of Israel.
Our fathers trusted in you;
They trusted and You rescued them.
They cried to you and were set free;
They trusted in You and were not disgraced.
Psalm 22:3-5
